Understanding Buzz Reset

Financializing attention requires acknowledging that attention is ephemeral.

Buzz Reset reflects that ephemerality by returning Buzz to 100 each week. A Buzz Reset does not change the price of a Popdex token. Buzz operates on a weekly timeframe, while price is perpetual.

Every bonded Popdex token becomes eligible for Buzz Reset each Monday at 00:00 UTC.

Solana programs cannot run automatically. A reset is applied by the first successful trade, liquidity addition, or liquidity removal after eligibility. If no reset-capable action occurs, the previous Buzz value can remain visible until one does.

Monday Buzz Reset eligibility applies to every single bonded Popdex token. Each token is reset independently.

Buzz after reset = 100; a reset-triggering trade may move Buzz in the same transaction.
Current Price after reset = Current Price before reset

A Buzz Reset does not move USDC or attention tokens and it does not change liquidity or erase price history. It creates a fresh attention-neutral starting point on a weekly basis.

People commonly understand attention as something operating on weekly cycles, such as “last week’s news.” Popdex reflects this weekly ephemerality through Buzz Resets.
